Quiet Time
What is Quiet Time??
- Master Shifu getting disturbed from his quiet time! His pursue towards inner peace.
- What about everyday sleep. All nights are very silent and quiet.
- Examination hall? P.S. I had my last end sem exam today.
- Being alone?!? walking down the lane all by yourself with a sad face ?
- Jesus in Matthew 14:23. Sends away His disciples, dispersed the crowd and went all by himself to pray.
- To me: "A time just between me and God".
Why Quiet Time?
- A time to share things just the way I feel to God.
- A time to make a request to GOD - The all power all authority. The Alpha and the Omega.
- A time to worship God. In Isaiah 43:7 God says that man was created to glorify God.
- A time to meditate upon God’s words.
- A time to build up relationship with God.
- A time to know God deeply. To become more like Him.. everyday.. step by step.
- A time of self-realization within God’s holy realm.
- Confession of mistakes, doubts, questions. Not just a let out, but with assurance to get the 100% accurate customized answers.
Outcomes of regular Quiet Time.
- A way to understand God’s thoughts. His ways. His greatness!
- Revelation of God’s plan for my life. Purpose of living. Solution to ‘Why am I existing?’ question.
Guidance from above! Moreover I become a good human being. God indeed has a unique extraordinary plan for me. Its factual because - it’s God the creator Himself, His plan, definitely its gonna be extraordinary. Maybe not extraordinary at the eyes of the world, but its the real true extraordinary thing. Coz the world’s yard stick is not accurate. Sometime or most of the time, stupidity is seen as an extraordinary stuff in world’s view point. Therefore, regular quiet time is going to help me in knowing more about the great plan which God has in store for me.
- Keeps me away from sin.
- Meditation: Filling mind with God’s words. It is NOT something to empty the mind and be at peace. But to consciously take effort to understand and chew upon God’s words.
Quiet Time: “Its the heart beat of living a Christian life” – Not in terms of a religion (which is how Christian term is seen now a days). Christian: followers of Christ. People who believe in Christ (i.e.) Jesus the God.
Incidents in Bible
- Jesus seen getting away to a solitary place to pray. Matthew 14:22-23; Mark 1:35-37;
- Adam and Eve in garden of Eden. Being instructed by God himself directly.
- Daniel’s three times a day prayer.. Daniel 6:10.
- Peter prays and gets a revelation.. Acts 10:9.

Few workouts using ASPECT.
Matthew 7:24-27 Build Your House on the Rock 24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
A - About God: God is a God who speaks to us. He speaks! and we can hear Him. God makes things easy to understand. e.g. like my favorite youtube teachers Josh Starmer, Abdul Hari, etc.
S - Sin: Not obeying the word of God.
P - Promise: If I obey God’s word (the Bible). I will be a wise man. No matter what comes against me. I won’t be demolished.
E - Example:
C - Command: Hear the words of God and do them.
T - Teaching: Importance of Bible and the necessity to practice it in real life; day to day; everyday.
Matthew 8: 23-27 Jesus Calms a Storm 23 And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. 25 And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” 26 And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. 27 And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”
A - About God: God can control the nature. Winds, sea, floods, earthquakes, tsunami, etc.
S - Sin: Being of little faith. Even after experiencing so many blessings and miracles. Still, if I don’t completely rely on God, it is going to be a sin.
P - Promise: God can rescue us from any situation.
E - Example: Not to be of little faith like the people in the boat.
C - Command:
T - Teaching: Trust God, no matter how bad the storms in life are. God can change anything. I just need to put my faith in God. Even with God in the boat, there was a storm. But good news is, God will help us through the storm. Have faith and move forward boldly, don’t be afraid of the storm.
